Description

The Sea to Summit Ember II is the warmer sibling in the Ember quilt line, rated to 2 °C comfort with a -4 °C limit and classified for full three-season use rather than summer camping. It weighs 560 g, built around 350 g of 850+ fill power goose down with a 95/5 down-to-feather ratio and Ultra-Dry hydrophobic treatment that helps the fill keep loft if it picks up moisture overnight. Compared with the lighter Ember I, the extra fill and length (183 cm) push the weight-per-degree figure to around 140 g, a reasonable trade for the wider range. Shoulder width is 120 cm and hip width 150 cm, tapering to an 87 cm foot box, and it compresses to 35 × 15 cm, about 3.7 L. As a quilt rather than a mummy bag, it relies on being cinched to a sleeping pad to eliminate drafts, which keeps weight down but means it will not perform left loose. It suits three-season backpackers wanting one quilt for most of the year, though sub-zero nights still call for supplemental insulation.
