Description
The Torchlight EXP Youth 20° is Big Agnes's down sleeping bag built for children, rated to 20°F and designed to be resized as the child grows: both length and width adjust, with expandable side panels taking up slack rather than leaving a bag the kid will outgrow in a season. At 794 g it's light for a kids' bag, helped by down fill rather than synthetic insulation, and it comes with a storage sack plus an integrated REM sleeve for stuffing it down small.
The mummy shape and down fill mean it packs smaller and insulates better per gram than a synthetic kids' bag, but down also means the bag needs to stay dry — not the easiest ask with children in a tent, and a wet-weather trip or a kid prone to spills might be better served by a synthetic alternative. For families camping through cool nights across several seasons without buying a new bag every year, the adjustable fit is the main selling point over a fixed-size kids' bag.
