Sea to Summit Boab Synthetic Sleeping Bag

Description

The Boab is a synthetic sleeping bag in a roomy semi-rectangular, tapered cut, weighing 1563 g — a weight that reflects synthetic fill rather than down, and one of the trade-offs for insulation that keeps performing when damp. The 50D recycled shell fabric carries a non-PFAS DWR finish, and a draft tube along the zipper stops warm air leaking out at the seam. A full-length two-way zipper opens the bag flat into a quilt, useful for regulating temperature on warmer nights or for airing it out at camp. Recycled materials and bluesign certification point to a bag built with sustainability in mind, without changing how it performs. At over 1.5 kg, the Boab is heavier than down equivalents and better suited to car camping, canoe trips or short approaches where extra bulk in a pack isn't a concern, rather than multi-day backpacking where every gram in the sleeping system matters. Damp climates or trips near water are where synthetic fill's resistance to losing loft when wet earns its weight.
