Exped Dura 6R

The Exped Dura 6R switches from synthetic fill to 700 cuin RDS-certified goose down, delivering an R-value of 5.8 (ASTM) - noticeably warmer than the synthetic Dura 5R's 4.8 - while keeping weight to 990 g thanks to down's superior warmth-to-weight ratio. At 65 cm wide, it's built in the regular-wide size, more shoulder and hip room than the standard 52 cm width used across most of the Dura line. Down insulation carries the usual caveat: it loses loft and insulating power if it gets wet, so care in a damp tent matters more here than with synthetic-filled Dura pads. The vertical baffle construction and 75D top / 170D bottom recycled polyester ripstop, both Oeko-Tex 100 certified, balance weight against ground abrasion. It packs to 27 x 16 cm and includes a Schnozzel pump bag, stuff sack, and repair kit. For cold-weather trips where warmth-to-weight matters more than moisture tolerance, the Dura 6R sits between the synthetic Dura 5R and the heavier down-filled Dura 8R; RDS certification confirms the down meets recognized animal-welfare sourcing standards.
