The Exped Ultra 1R Duo is the two-person version of the Ultra 1R, built on the same pure-air, summer-only insulation with an ASTM R-value of 1.8. At 105 × 183 cm it fits two sleepers (or one with generous elbow room), and 740 g is relatively light for that footprint — roughly half what two separate Ultra 1R pads would weigh together.
The fabric is recycled 20D ripstop polyester with Oeko-Tex 100 and bluesign certification, the construction uses horizontal baffles, and multi-function valves handle both inflation and deflation. Exped rates the surface as quiet, a detail couples sharing one tent will appreciate. The package includes a Schnozzel Pumpbag, stuff sack, and repair kit, with a 5-year warranty.
As with the single version, insulation is summer-only with no synthetic fill, so it suits warm nights rather than cooler shoulder-season conditions. For couples or families on ultralight summer trips, it's a more efficient setup than two separate pads — fewer seams and less weight per person, at the cost of flexibility if one partner wants to sleep solo.
