aLOKSAK Waterproof Bag

The aLOKSAK is a re-sealable waterproof bag made from 6 mil polyethylene film, rated airtight and watertight to a certified depth of 60 meters. Unlike a standard zip-lock bag, it blocks water, moisture, dust and sand completely rather than just resisting splashes, which makes it suited to protecting electronics, documents or food even in genuinely wet or submerged conditions on trail. The film is thin enough to operate a touchscreen through it, so phones and GPS units can stay sealed and still be used. At 8 g per bag, it adds almost nothing to a pack's weight while replacing bulkier dry bags or stuff sacks for smaller items. Made from standard polyethylene rather than a more puncture-resistant fabric, it's best treated as a barrier against water and dust rather than abrasion, and paired with a soft pouch or pocket for items that need protection from sharp objects too.
