At 198 g it is light even by ultralight standards, and the 15D silnylon fabric keeps bulk down to a 25 cm packed size. A hood and grosgrain tie-outs are the features that make the dual role work — the tie-outs give trekking-pole pitch points when the poncho comes off and goes up as a shelter, while the hood keeps rain off during hiking. At 259 cm in length it covers a hiker and a pack underneath when worn.
