The Gregory Katmai 65 extends the Katmai line with ten extra liters over the 55 — at 65 liters and 2121 g, that comes out to just under 33 g per liter, a slightly better ratio than the smaller Katmai 55. The same ventilated FreeFloat 360 back system, tensioned mesh over an aluminum stay frame, keeps airflow going even with a fuller, heavier load.
The body is built from a mix of recycled 210D and 420D nylon (40–45% recycled content) with a PFC-free DWR finish. The pack has two front pockets and two side pockets, a padded hip belt with its own zippered pockets, and hydration compatibility; no rain cover is included. A chest strap and load lifters round out the load adjustment.
This is a men's pack aimed at multi-day treks with heavier loads, where the priority is a stable aluminum-framed carry system and well-organized hip belt storage rather than minimizing weight.
