Hyperlite Mountain Gear Junction 40 Black

The Hyperlite Mountain Gear Junction 40 Black is a black-colorway version of HMG's 40 L ultralight pack, built from Dyneema Composite Fabric DCH150 at 3.9 oz/yd². At 848 g with an 18 kg load rating, that works out to 16.5 g per liter of capacity — slightly more than the standard Junction 40, consistent with a somewhat heavier, tougher fabric on this variant. Compared to the base version, this one has zippered side pockets instead of mesh, compression straps at both top and bottom rather than a removable set, and it drops hip belt pockets, shoulder strap pockets, and internal pockets entirely. The result is a simpler, cleaner profile with fewer built-in storage options — useful for hikers who organize gear into separate stuff sacks and don't need quick outside access. The adjustable 38–53 cm torso range and the highly water-resistant fabric treatment carry over from the standard Junction 40. The pack is hydration-bladder compatible and targets the same group of thru-hikers and multi-day trekkers, with the added draw of a lower-profile black colorway.
