The Osprey Ariel 55 is a women's-specific 55-liter internal-frame pack rated for a maximum load of 27 kg. At 2185 g and a 25.2 l/kg volume-to-weight ratio, it sits in the mid-weight, fully featured segment — not the lightest pack in its class, but one built to carry substantial loads over multiple days.
The padded contact back system spreads weight evenly between shoulders and hips, backed by a chest strap and load lifters. The main compartment can be loaded from the top lid, through a front J-zip panel, or from the bottom, useful for packing a sleeping bag separately. One front pocket and two side pockets give quick access to smaller items and a bottle, and dual ice axe loops extend use beyond maintained trails.
The fabric is 420HD nylon packcloth with bluesign certification, reinforced with tougher 210D nylon Diamond fabric in high-wear spots. It's hydration-compatible, includes an integrated rain cover, and comes with a 99-year warranty from Osprey. It suits multi-day trekking and demanding thru-hiking where carrying a heavier load matters more than minimizing the pack's own weight.
