The Superior Wilderness Designs Wendigo 70L is the largest and most rugged pack in the Wendigo line, built for heavy loads and longer expeditions. Ultra 400X fabric with a UHMWPE face gives it more abrasion resistance than the brand's lighter models, and a manufacturer-rated capacity up to 65 lbs (just under 30 kg) puts it firmly in load-hauling territory rather than pure ultralight use. At 70 L and 1060 g, weight per liter works out to 15.1 g — the lowest ratio in the SWD lineup, meaning the best volume-to-weight efficiency, though at the cost of overall pack weight. Unlike the other models in the range, it combines a top lid with a roll-top closure, making it easier to grab items quickly from the top while still adjusting volume to the load. Removable aluminum stays, a contact back system, a chest strap, and load lifters handle the job of transferring weight onto the hips. A front pocket and two side pockets add storage, and the padded hip belt includes its own pockets. The Wendigo 70L suits multi-day treks and expeditions where you need to carry more gear and supplies than a standard ultralight pack allows.
