The Superior Wilderness Designs Ultralight Long Haul 50L is a handmade ultralight pack with a removable aluminum-stay frame, built around a 50 L roll-top body that expands to 60 L including the pockets — a step up in capacity aimed at longer resupply stretches on thru-hikes. At 856 g, weight per liter comes to about 17.1 g, more efficient than the smaller 40 L version in the same line. The Ultra200X fabric blends 200D UHMWPE with recycled polyester, giving the durability needed for a manufacturer-rated capacity of around 50 lbs.
The hip belt is padded but fixed rather than removable, and comes in a range of sizes to fit different hip circumferences. S-curved shoulder straps, a chest strap, and load lifters help distribute weight better over long miles. One front pocket and two side pockets round out the roll-top main compartment. This pack is aimed primarily at thru-hikers and multi-day backpackers who need more room and carrying capacity than a 30–40 L ultralight pack offers, while still staying within ultralight territory.
