Description

MSR IsoPro is a fuel canister with an 80/20 isobutane-propane blend, the standard mix for the vast majority of threaded backpacking stoves. With 110 g of fuel and a total canister weight of 210 g, this is the smaller size in the lineup — suited to shorter trips or as a backup to a larger canister. The isobutane-propane blend maintains higher pressure than pure butane at lower temperatures, so the stove burns more consistently in cooler weather — a property of this fuel type generally, not an exclusive MSR technology. The valve follows the EN 417 (Lindal) standard, so the canister fits the vast majority of stoves on the market regardless of brand, which makes refueling on longer trips straightforward. A built-in gauge on the side of the canister shows roughly how much fuel remains, a practical detail when planning how much cooking capacity is left on a trip. For backpacking and light trips, it's a standard, reliable choice without particular quirks.
