The LifeStraw Peak Series Solo is the stripped-down end of the Peak lineup: a 48 g squeeze filter that screws directly onto standard 28 mm PET bottles instead of carrying its own reservoir. The 0.2-micron hollow-fibre membrane is NSF P231 certified and removes bacteria, parasites and microplastics at a 3 L/min flow rate, with a 2,000-litre rated lifespan - solid numbers for something this light. It does not filter viruses, so it's suited to typical backcountry water sources rather than water of unknown or high biological risk.
Unlike the bottle version in the same series, the Solo's cartridge is not replaceable and it isn't designed for inline hydration-bladder use, which keeps the design simple but means the whole unit gets retired once the filter reaches its lifespan. A backflush syringe is included to maintain flow between then. For gram-counters who already carry a bottle and just want reliable filtration bolted onto it, this is about as light as that gets.
