The LifeStraw Peak Series Collapsible Squeeze Bottle 1L pairs a soft-sided, foldable 1-litre reservoir with an integrated hollow-fibre microfilter. The 0.2-micron membrane removes 99.999999% of bacteria and 99.999% of protozoa, backed by NSF P231 certification for microbiological filtration - it does not remove viruses, so it's built for backcountry sources rather than heavily contaminated water. Flow rate is a brisk 3 L/min, and the filter is rated for 2,000 litres before replacement, with a backflush syringe included to clear clogging in the field and extend that lifespan.
At 102 g it's heavier than LifeStraw's minimalist straw-style filters, reflecting the added bottle itself, but the collapsible design packs down flat when empty and the bottle threads onto standard 28 mm bottle necks. It also works inline with a hydration bladder, giving it more flexibility than a single-use squeeze pouch. A solid all-rounder for weekend trips through to longer backcountry travel where you want filtered water on demand without pumping.
