Sawyer mini

The Sawyer Mini is a smaller, lighter version of the popular Squeeze filter, using the same hollow-fiber technology and the same 0.1-micron absolute filtration against bacteria and protozoa. The main differences are weight — 57 g versus 85 g for the Squeeze — and flow rate, which at roughly 0.5 L/min is about a third as fast. In practice that means a longer wait at the water source; filling a single bottle is rarely an issue, but the gap becomes noticeable with a group or when refilling a bladder for the night. The filter works both as a squeeze filter and as a straw for drinking directly, so it doesn't strictly require a soft pouch. It fits 28 mm SmartWater-style bottle threads and hydration bladder hoses. Unlike the Squeeze, it needs priming before first use. Thanks to its low weight and compact size, the Mini is a common pick for solo hikers chasing a minimal base weight, or as a dependable backup alongside another primary water treatment method.
