Nitecore NU25 MCT UL

The Nitecore NU25 MCT UL is a lightened version of the NU25 MCT headlamp: at the same 400 lm peak output and 132 m beam distance, it weighs 47 g instead of 50 g for the metal-housed MCT variant, and adds one extra light mode (10 total). The built-in 700 mAh battery charges via USB-C and runs up to 45 hours on the lowest setting. Steplessly adjustable colour temperature from 3,000 to 6,500 K lets you switch between a warm tone that preserves night vision and a cooler beam with better contrast on rocky terrain. A button lock guards against accidental activation in a pack, and IP66 resistance covers dust and rain. For trips where every gram counts, the MCT UL is the more sensible pick over the metal-bodied MCT: it delivers essentially the same lighting performance at a lower weight, making it a reasonable default for thru-hiking and multi-day ultralight trips.
