The Ruta Locura Titanium Instep Crampons are lightweight instep traction devices — meaning the spikes sit only under the ball of the foot rather than spanning the full sole like conventional mountaineering crampons. With no front points (flat front), they're not meant for steep ice or firn, but for slick, icy, or snowy trail conditions on regular hikes.
Titanium construction keeps the weight down to just 119 g per pair, notably lighter than steel or aluminium microspikes in a similar category. The universal strap binding, which doesn't require a specific boot welt, lets them fit both trail runners and regular hiking boots, making them usable across seasons and footwear types.
A carry pouch is included, protecting the rest of your pack contents from the spikes. This is more of a slip-prevention tool for icy patches and shoulder-season snow than a full crampon replacement for technical terrain — there are no front points or aggressive tread pattern here.
