The Snowline Chainsen Light Microspikes use 12 steel points, 1 cm long, mounted on a stretchy elastomer strap rather than a hybrid buckle system, weighing 230 g per pair in size M — noticeably lighter than spike designs with more points and stainless steel chains. Fewer points means less traction on steep or heavily iced terrain, but the trade-off is a pack weight low enough that they are easy to bring along just in case. The pure elastomer strap goes on and off quickly without adjustment, which suits trail running and fast hiking where you might put spikes on and off repeatedly as conditions change along a route. A carry pouch is included. They are built for packed snow and icy trail sections on established paths, not steep or technical winter mountaineering terrain where more aggressive traction is needed.
