The UltaMid 4 Half Insert covers half the footprint of the larger UltaMid 4 pyramid and is built for two people, leaving the other half of the shelter open as a vestibule or gear-storage area. The floor is a DCF bathtub, the walls are full No-See-Um mesh, and entry runs through a YKK #5 zipper. At 3.07 m² (1.54 m² per person) and a 119 cm peak height — lower than the tent's true apex since this covers only the tent's outer section — it trades some headroom for a 539 g weight. Compared with the full UltaMid 4 insert (799 g for four people), the Half Insert suits smaller groups or pairs who want the space of the larger pyramid without kitting out the entire interior with mesh and floor. A stuff sack is included for packing. It works well on trips where sleeping-space needs shift with group size, and the uncovered half doubles as dry storage for packs and gear.
