The UltaMid 4 Insert with DCF11 Floor is a full-footprint inner tent for the larger UltaMid 4 pyramid, built for four people. Like its smaller UltaMid 2 counterpart, it pairs full No-See-Um mesh walls with a waterproof DCF bathtub floor, and once attached to the UltaMid 4 fly it forms a closed double-wall system that handles both bugs and ground moisture. At 6.5 m² (1.63 m² per person) and a 191 cm peak height, there is enough room for four sleeping spots and partial sitting headroom. The insert connects directly to the outer shell rather than standing on its own, so it is dependent on the UltaMid 4 fly rather than a standalone shelter. A weight of 799 g is expected for a four-person insert with a full floor, and the per-person figure represents a reasonable trade-off between weight and comfort. It is sold separately and requires the outer tent as a separate purchase; combined, the two pieces form a conventional double-wall setup for group thru-hiking trips.
