MSR Mini Ground Hog Stake

The MSR Mini Ground Hog Stake is a lightweight Y-beam stake made from 7001 aluminum alloy, 15 cm long and weighing 9.4 g each. The Y-shaped cross-section adds bending stiffness under driving force or guyline tension compared to a simple wire stake, without adding significant weight. The set includes six stakes, enough to cover a standard one- or two-person tent along with its guyout points. A reflective pull loop at the top makes the stake easier to remove from the ground and easier to spot in the dark or in grass — a small but genuinely useful detail. Universal compatibility means the stake isn't tied to a specific tent model or brand. The shorter 15 cm length and low weight make this a good fit for medium to firm ground, where longer, heavier stakes aren't necessary; in loose sand or snow, though, the thin Y-profile is less effective, and wider snow stakes are the better choice.
