Eureka SUMMER PASS 2

The Eureka SUMMER PASS 2 is a two-door, two-vestibule freestanding dome tent aimed at 3-season backpacking, distinguished from simpler tunnel and A-frame designs by a full-mesh inner tent – useful for warm-weather ventilation and stargazing, though it relies entirely on the 68D ripstop polyester fly for weather protection when pitched. Packed weight is 2.75 kg (2.3 kg minimum), on the heavier side for a 2-person shelter, partly a function of the dual-door, dual-vestibule layout that adds convenience at the cost of grams. The fly carries a 1500 mm waterproof rating while the floor is rated notably higher at 2000 mm, giving good protection against ground moisture even where the fly itself might be marginal in sustained heavy rain. Two vestibules total 1.87 m², more than double the 0.92 m² typical of single-vestibule designs, and reflective guy lines plus 8 stakes support the pitch. A footprint is included. With 1.35 m² of floor space per person and a vestibule ratio of 69%, this tent favors gear storage and entry convenience over minimal packed size.
