Hilleberg Staika 2

The Hilleberg Staika 2 is a 2-person, fully freestanding dome tent that can be pitched without a single peg - useful on rock, sand, platforms, or any ground where stakes won't hold. At 3400 g packaged weight - 1700 g per person - it's one of the heavier 2-person tents in the Hilleberg range, and that weight buys two entrances and two vestibules on top of the freestanding structure, so both occupants can get in and out and store gear independently. The 3+ season (extended) rating and freestanding dome geometry are built specifically for reliable pitching in poor conditions - deep snow, storm-force wind, or terrain where guying out a tunnel tent isn't practical. That reliability comes at a real weight cost compared with Hilleberg's tunnel tents of similar capacity, so it suits trips where dependable pitching matters more than shaving grams: winter base camps, exposed ridgelines, or conditions where you can't count on the ground to hold pegs.
