Naturehike Tagar 1

The Naturehike Tagar 1 is a freestanding, 3-season, single-person tent that the manufacturer also files under "ultralight," though unlike non-freestanding trekking-pole shelters it carries its own aluminum poles and isn't trekking-pole compatible. Unusual for a solo tent, it has two doors and two vestibules — a luxury for a one-person shelter that mainly benefits hikers who want a separate space for wet boots away from where they cook, or who prefer choosing an entry side based on terrain. The inner body uses partial mesh (a polyester/mesh combination) rather than full mesh, which retains a bit more warmth than fully-meshed designs at the cost of peak ventilation in hot weather. Both fly and floor are 20D silicone-coated ripstop nylon rated to 4000mm. A trail weight of 1370g (1400g with accessories) is solid for a freestanding single-person tent with two doors, though not an extreme ultralight figure. It packs down to a slim 44×10cm, with twelve stakes and a footprint included. The Tagar 1 suits solo thru-hiking and backpacking for hikers who want a freestanding pitch with the convenience of two doors rather than the absolute minimum gram count.
