The Sea to Summit Cinder Down Quilt 50 is a summer-rated backpacking quilt built around a 10°C limit temperature, aimed at warm-weather trips where a full mummy bag is more insulation than you need. Fill is 240 g of 750+ fill-power goose down (US standard), treated with a hydrophobic finish (Ultra-Dry Down) that helps the loft resist moisture over multi-day use. As a quilt it has no zipper and no insulated underside — the open footbox and QuiltLock pad straps anchor it to a sleeping pad instead, since down compressed under body weight barely insulates anyway. The 20D NanoShell nylon shell is water-resistant yet breathable, enough to shrug off condensation inside a single-wall shelter. Baffles are sewn-through, the simplest and lightest construction, which does introduce minor cold spots at the seams — a reasonable trade-off for a 10°C-rated piece. At 480 g and a warmth-to-weight ratio of 20.8, it sits toward the lighter end of the category, suited to ultralight hikers chasing a low base weight on warm-season trips. Two units can be zipped together for double-quilt use.
