Big Agnes Q-Core SLX

Big Agnes Q-Core SLX

by Big Agnes

544 g Weight
4.5 R-Value
Big Agnes Brand

Description

The Q-Core SLX is the lighter sibling in Big Agnes's insulated-pad lineup, using an I-beam quilted construction and PrimaLoft Silver insulation combined with a heat-reflective layer to hit an R-value of 4.5 tested to the ASTM F3340-18 standard — a more directly comparable rating than pads tested under proprietary methods. At 544 g and 9.5 cm thick, it's built for three-season backpacking where insulation matters but weight still counts. The top fabric is 40D polyester ripstop, and the pad uses a multi-function valve that handles both inflation and one-way deflation, paired with an included pump sack for fast setup without lung power. A stuff sack and repair kit come standard, and Big Agnes backs it with a 2-year warranty. Compared to a heavier synthetic-fill pad at the same R-value, the SLX trades some durability margin for a noticeably better weight-per-R-value figure, which suits hikers optimizing a three-season kit for distance rather than base-camp comfort. It's a reasonable middle ground between down-filled air pads and heavier closed-cell options.
