Description
The Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite NXT MAX is a rectangular ultralight pad with an R-value of 4.5 (ASTM), built on ThermaCapture reflective film combined with Triangular Core Matrix construction. That level of insulation covers three-season use with headroom into colder nights, without the weight penalty of a dedicated winter pad. The Regular Wide version (183 x 63.5 cm) weighs 540 g and packs down to 28 x 12 cm — the extra width is welcome for side sleepers or anyone sharing a two-person setup.
Top and bottom fabric is a tougher 30D ripstop nylon, and the single WingLock valve handles both fast inflation and controlled deflation. The pad ships with a pump sack, stuff sack, and repair kit. It rates among the quieter pads in its category, a plus for light sleepers in shared tents. With a solid weight-to-warmth ratio of 8.3 R/kg, it is a strong choice for multi-day treks and thru-hiking where grams matter, though winter expeditions call for something warmer.
