Description

The Exped Synmat Hyperlite is an insulated air pad with a mummy-tapered shape that follows the outline of a sleeping bag, trimming weight and packed volume. Texpedloft microfiber insulation and an R-value of 3.3 place it firmly in 3-season territory — not built for hard winter, but reliable through spring, summer, and autumn. The shell fabric is 20D polyester, the 7 cm thickness gives solid ground clearance despite the low weight, and the construction uses horizontal baffles with two low-profile valves compatible with a pump sack. At 405 g and 52 cm wide (the standard, non-wide version), it's one of the lighter insulated pads in Exped's range. A stuff sack and repair kit are included, with a 5-year warranty on materials. At roughly 123 g per unit of R-value, it ranks among the more efficient 3-season pads, suiting multi-day treks and ultralight kits where packed size matters as much as weight. The tapered shape does trade away some room to move compared with rectangular pads.
