The Exped Versa 2R is a versatile 3-season pad with light synthetic insulation (60 g/m² Texpedloft, Synmat Technology) and an R-value of 2.4 under ASTM F3340-18 — suited to spring-through-autumn hiking rather than freezing nights. Unlike the Ultra line, it uses a more durable 75D recycled ripstop polyester on both top and bottom, which pushes weight up to 595 g but adds puncture resistance on rocky or uneven ground. The weight-per-R figure (nearly 248 g per point) shows this is more of a comfort-and-durability compromise than a dedicated ultralight pad — a good fit for weekend trips and less experienced hikers who value robustness over shaving grams. Inflated thickness is 5 cm, it packs to 28 × 14 cm, and the recommended maximum user height is 183 cm. An integrated hand pump removes the need to inflate by mouth, and the package includes a stuff sack and repair kit. The pad is bluesign certified, carries a 5-year warranty, and has a quiet surface that won't announce every turn inside the sleeping bag.
