The REI Co-op Helix Insulated Air Sleeping Pad is a mummy-shaped inflatable pad built for colder conditions. Its R-value of 4.9, measured to the ASTM F3340-18 standard, combined with a dual reflective film layer, puts it in range for late fall through early spring use, when ground temperatures approach freezing. At 7.6 cm thick, it gives solid clearance from the ground and enough cushioning for side sleepers. In regular size (183 × 51 cm) it weighs 595 g, which isn't the lightest option at this R-value but fits the comfort-insulated category rather than the ultralight end of the spectrum. The air chamber uses a quilted grid baffle pattern, and both top and bottom fabrics are 30D polyester ripstop with TPU lamination — puncture-resistant while staying reasonably light.
