The Yate EVA Classic 1,0 is a classic closed-cell foam sleeping pad made from EVA foam, a softer and more resilient material than standard polyethylene. At 250 g for a 190 × 50 cm pad with 1 cm thickness, it delivers an R-value of 2.0, putting it in the 3-season category suitable for spring, summer and autumn trips — it will not be enough insulation for snow or freezing nights on its own. With no valve, air chambers or puncture risk, it is highly resistant to damage and instantly ready to use: just unroll and lie down. Rolled up it measures 50 × 15 cm, bulkier than thinner foil pads but still easy to strap to the outside of a pack. It suits hikers who value simplicity and durability over ultimate packed size, or works as a protective underlay beneath an inflatable pad — stacking the two raises total R-value while shielding the pricier inflatable pad from roots and stones on the ground.
