Hilltop Packs Food Bag

The Hilltop Packs Food Bag is an ultralight food storage bag made from laminated Challenge D50T fabric with taped seams, built to replace bulkier canisters or generic stuff sacks for food. In its large size (40 × 48 cm, roughly 12 litres), it holds enough food for three to seven days on trail while weighing only 45 g — a fraction of what a cotton or heavier nylon bag would add. The fabric is waterproof, keeping contents dry from rain or condensation inside the pack. Because the material and seams are strong enough to take a suspended load, the bag doubles as a hang-anywhere bear bag using the PCT or counterbalance method — useful for thru-hikers in bear country without access to bear boxes or canisters. For a weekend trip the 12-litre capacity is more than most people need, but for a multi-day resupply carry it consolidates several smaller sacks into one durable, water-resistant unit. The trade-off of such a thin laminate is limited puncture resistance against sharp gear packed alongside it.
