The Gregory Wander 50 is a 50-liter internal-frame pack built specifically for younger hikers, sized down from Gregory's adult Wander/Zulu lines but keeping the same construction logic: an internal frame, a contact-padded back panel, and a padded hip belt with pockets for quick access to snacks or a map. At 1,450 g it works out to roughly 29 g per liter of capacity, a reasonable trade-off for a pack that has to survive scrambling over rocks and getting dropped at camp rather than chase the lowest possible weight.
The shell mixes 40% recycled 210D nylon with a tougher 420D high-density nylon and a C0 DWR finish, so abrasion-prone areas hold up while the rest of the pack stays lighter. Access is through a top lid and a front-panel J-zip, backed by one front pocket, two side pockets, a hydration sleeve, and an integrated rain cover.
With chest strap, load lifters, and a torso range built to grow with the child, it suits multi-day family trekking rather than single overnights, though it handles day hikes just as well.
