DD Hammocks SuperLight Tarp

The DD Hammocks SuperLight Tarp is an ultralight silnylon tarp covering 8.7 m² (roughly 3 × 2.9 m) with a 3,000 mm PU coating that handles standard rain loads without reaching for pricier DCF fabric. At 490 g, it sits among the lighter tarps in its category, though not at the absolute top end — comparable-area Dyneema tarps run noticeably lighter still. Nineteen reinforced attachment points give plenty of pitching options, from a classic A-frame to asymmetric configurations to lower, more wind-resistant setups. A 3 m ridgeline matches the tarp's longer edge, and guylines are included, so there's no need to buy separate cordage. A universal shape and no requirement for dedicated poles mean the tarp can be pitched on trekking poles, between trees, or directly over a hammock — DD Hammocks markets it both as hammock rain cover and as a standalone ground shelter. That versatility has a flip side: without a shaped cat-cut, the fabric flaps more in wind when pitched taut compared to purpose-cut catenary tarps, an acceptable trade-off for the lower price and broader usability.
