Description
The Liteway Simplex Mini Tarp is a solo shelter built down to 195 g, making it one of the lightest options in Liteway's tarp lineup and a natural fit for hikers chasing a sub-5 kg base weight. The 272 × 144 cm silpoly panel covers 3.8 m² with catenary-cut edges that pull taut under tension, and eight attachment loops allow several pitch configurations depending on how much protection the terrain and forecast demand.
Included UHMW PE guylines mean the tarp is pitch-ready out of the box rather than needing an aftermarket cordage swap, and the fabric carries a 2,000 mm waterproof rating typical of this weight class. As with the larger Simplex Max, the seams aren't factory-sealed, so a coat of silicone sealant is needed before relying on the tarp in sustained rain. At this size and weight there's minimal room for gear storage beyond the sleeper themselves, and no floor or bug protection, so it's best suited to experienced minimalist campers pairing it with a bivy or groundsheet rather than a first ultralight shelter.
