The Copper Spur HV UL2 Long is the extended version of the popular two-person Copper Spur — the floor runs 244 cm, 20 cm (8 inches) longer than the standard UL2, a real benefit for taller hikers who find the regular length cramped. A 132 cm head width and 107 cm foot width combined with a 109 cm peak height give 4.55 m² of total living space, working out to 723 g per person (650 g minimum) at a total weight of 1,446 g.
Two DAC Featherlite NFL aluminum poles (8.7 mm diameter) form a freestanding double-wall dome that pitches inner-first. The 15D nylon fly carries a 1,500 mm waterproof rating while the 20D nylon floor is rated to 1,200 mm, a difference that reflects the different wear each surface takes. Two vestibules totaling 1.67 m² (a 58% vestibule-to-floor ratio) provide solid storage, and a gear loft under the ceiling is included. A footprint is sold separately.
