The Copper Spur UL2 XL stretches Big Agnes's well-known ultralight two-person dome to accommodate hikers taller than roughly 6 feet who find the standard length cramped for legs or a sleeping bag. The core architecture carries over unchanged: a freestanding, double-wall dome pitched inner-body-first on two DAC Featherlite NFL/NSL aluminum poles joined at a swivel hub. Fly and floor are 15D nylon with 20D ripstop reinforcement and HyperBead™ treatment, while the inner tent is fully mesh for ventilation on warm nights.
At a minimum weight of 1,300 g (1,500 g packaged) over a 3.3 m² floor and 104 cm of peak height, it sits at the lighter end of two-person backpacking tents — 750 g per person is a respectable split for thru-hiking. Two doors, two vestibules, four interior pockets and rain gutters over the vents round out a shelter aimed squarely at taller pairs who don't want to trade space for weight.
