Big Agnes Salt Creek SL2

The Salt Creek SL2 is a conventional freestanding, double-wall dome tent for two, built on a DAC Pressfit hub pole system that pitches inner-body-first. Three doors and two vestibules (roughly 1.86 m² of extra covered storage) are generous for a 2-person tent in this weight class, giving each occupant independent entry and gear space rather than sharing one vestibule. Fly and floor are both polyester ripstop with a 1500 mm PU coating and factory-taped seams; the fly alone weighs 1333 g of the total 1844 g trail weight, with a 1670 g minimum if you drop stakes and stuff sacks. Floor area is 2.6 m² with a 112 cm peak height and a single roof vent. Eight aluminum stakes and interior pockets round out the package; a footprint is sold separately. At 922 g per person it sits at the heavier end of backpacking tents rather than true ultralight, trading weight for three functional doors and vestibule space — a reasonable choice for backpacking and thru-hiking where livability matters as much as pack weight.
