The Big Agnes C Bar 2 breaks from the usual two-pole dome format — the whole structure rides on a single 8.7 mm DAC Pressfit aluminum pole, simplifying the pitch and cutting down on parts that could get lost on the trail. It's still freestanding, so the tent can be repositioned even fully assembled.
A tapered floor plan (132 cm at the head, 107 cm at the foot) over 2.6 m² trims material from areas sleepers don't use. Trail weight of 1673 g and full weight of 1816 g put the C Bar 2 toward the lighter end of the three-season category, working out to 837 g per person with two occupants.
Fly, floor, and inner tent are recycled 75D polyester with a 1500 mm PU coating, seams factory-taped. A single 0.7 m² vestibule and door are a more economical setup than dual-door designs, a fair trade-off for a lighter tent. Three interior pockets and a gear loft round out storage, footprint sold separately. A solid choice for pairs wanting weight savings without a non-freestanding shelter.
