Marmot Thor 3-Person Tent

The Marmot Thor 3P is the three-person version of the expedition-grade Thor geodesic tent, built for mountaineering and expeditions in four-season conditions. Six 9.6 mm DAC Featherlite NSL aluminum poles — slightly thicker than on the 2P version — hold this freestanding tent steady under heavy wind and snow load. At 4,610 g minimum and 5,110 g fully packed, that's 1,537 g and 1,703 g per person with three occupants. A 50D polyester ripstop fly rated to 3,000 mm and a 70D nylon floor at 10,000 mm deliver strong water and abrasion resistance, while the 20D No-See-Um mesh inner tent is only partially ventilated — a deliberate tradeoff to retain warmth in winter conditions. A 4.4 m² floor and two vestibules totaling 1.76 m² give 1.47 m² per person, slightly more than the 2P model since interior space doesn't scale linearly with pole count. A gear loft for small items and factory-taped seams complete the standard feature set. Suited to three-person expedition teams, or two people carrying substantial gear, where resistance to extreme weather matters more than pack weight.
