Zpacks Plex Solo Lite

The Zpacks Plex Solo Lite is a one-person pyramid (tipi-style) shelter built around a single trekking pole and Dyneema Composite Fabric (DCF), pairing a DCF outer canopy with a fully meshed inner tent that provides bug protection and ventilation independent of the fly. Being non-freestanding, it needs the guy lines and 6 to 10 stakes taut to hold its shape, so pitch quality depends more on ground conditions and staking technique than with a pole-supported freestanding design. At 332 g minimum weight, it sits solidly in ultralight territory, and the tapered bathtub floor, 1.91 m² with 20 cm walls, keeps the footprint tight rather than roomy: 229 cm long by as little as 71 cm at the foot end. One front vestibule provides gear storage without adding a second door. A 132 cm peak height allows sitting up but not standing. Aimed at thru-hikers and ultralight backpackers minimizing shelter weight, it trades interior space and setup forgiveness for a pack weight that barely registers.
