Description
The Zpacks Duplex Pro is a two-person tarp-style tent pitched with trekking poles, with a packaged weight of 544 g. Both the fly and floor are DCF (Dyneema Composite Fabric), and the shelter uses two poles with two zippered doors — one on each side — giving each occupant separate storm-door entry and exit rather than climbing over a tent-mate, and the pitch is symmetrical so it goes up the same way from either side.
Rated as a 3-season shelter, it's built for the weight-conscious end of two-person backpacking rather than winter camping or high-wind exposed ridgelines, where a tarp-tent design and non-freestanding trekking-pole setup are more exposed than a fully freestanding double-wall tent. For thru-hikers and ultralight backpackers already carrying trekking poles, the dual-door layout and sub-600 g packed weight make it a practical two-person option; hikers who don't use trekking poles or need four-season protection should look at a different design.
