Cumulus Selva 300

The Cumulus Selva 300 is a goose-down underquilt for hammock camping, rated to 2°C comfort and -4°C limit, at 575 g total weight with 300 g of 850-cuin fill inside an H-baffle construction. The 95/5 down-to-feather ratio and high fill power keep loft high for the weight, and the Pertex Quantum shell (29 g/m²) has a DWR finish that shrugs off condensation dripping from the hammock fabric above. At 195 cm internal length, 110 cm shoulder width and 75 cm foot box, it is sized for hammock users up to 185 cm tall - taller hikers will find the foot end tight. Being hung underneath the hammock rather than inside a sleeping bag, it insulates against convective heat loss through the fabric floor, which a regular sleeping pad cannot do properly in a hammock. It comes with both a stuff sack and a larger storage sack, the latter for keeping the down lofted between trips. This is a three-season piece for hammock camping down to around freezing; below the -4°C limit you are looking at a colder night than most hikers would call comfortable, and it is not usable at all for ground sleeping.
