Description

The Cumulus Taiga 250 is a topquilt purpose-built for hammock camping, though Cumulus also lists it as usable on a sleeping pad. It carries 250 g of Polish goose down at 850 fill power (95/5 ratio) for a total weight of 510 g, with a 3-season comfort rating of 2 °C and a limit of -4 °C — enough margin for cool nights without pushing into winter territory. The closed, anatomically shaped footbox is a hammock-specific detail: unlike an open ground quilt, it seals the foot end so a hanging sleeper does not lose heat through a gap. Horizontal H-baffle chambers with a 55/45 fill distribution favour the torso over the extremities, and the elastic edge attachment system is designed to cinch the quilt snugly around a hammock body rather than a flat pad. The Pertex Quantum 29 g/m² DWR shell handles the usual condensation exposure of under-tarp hammock setups. Packed size is compact at roughly 19×15 cm. This is a specialist piece for hammock hikers rather than a general-purpose quilt, and worth skipping if you sleep on the ground.
