The Klymit Static V Short is the torso-length cut of Klymit's Static V line, trimmed to 127 cm so it covers hips and shoulders but stops short of your calves and feet — plan to pad that gap with a pack, spare clothing, or a small foam pad. Width (59 cm) and thickness (6.5 cm) match the full-length version, and the body-mapped baffle zones are shaped to distribute weight differently than plain cross-baffles. An R-value of 1.3 keeps this firmly in summer-pad territory rather than anything approaching shoulder-season cold. Both the top and bottom use a more durable 75D polyester, which trades a bit of minimum weight for toughness, though at 383 g it's still on the light side for a full sleeping pad. The standard screw valve is simpler than dual-valve designs but gets the job done. A sensible pick for summer camping, scouting trips, or anyone building an ultralight kit who's comfortable padding out the foot end separately.
