The UltaMid 2 Half Insert is an inner tent that occupies only half of the UltaMid 2 pyramid's footprint, converting that half into a fully enclosed single-person sleeping space. The walls are built from fine No-See-Um mesh that keeps out even small insects, and the floor is a DCF (Dyneema Composite Fabric) bathtub construction, so it stays dry against ground moisture and splash-back from the fly's edges. Entry is through a full-panel YKK #5 zipper, which opens nearly the entire front wall of the insert for easy access and ventilation. At 420 g, this is a solution for hikers who want the weight savings of a pyramid shelter combined with double-wall comfort on just one side — useful on solo trips where the other half of the UltaMid 2 stays open as a vestibule or gear-storage area. The insert is sold separately and requires the UltaMid 2 fly itself, to which it is model-specific.
