Description
The Warmpeace Shelter Tarp is a simple square shelter measuring 298 × 298 cm from Warmpeace, a Czech brand founded in 1994. At just under 8.9 m², it gives one to two people enough covered ground for sleeping plus gear, depending on how it's pitched. The fabric is double-sided siliconised 30D nylon rated to 2000 mm waterproof.
A variable loop anchoring system runs around the entire perimeter, opening up a wide range of pitch configurations — strung between trees, set up on trekking poles (the tarp itself needs none), or pitched low to the ground against wind. That flexibility is the main advantage over shaped catenary-cut tarps, which offer fewer pitch options but shed wind more efficiently thanks to their tighter cut.
At 760 g it's on the heavier side for a tarp, though still well below a double-wall tent. It works as a tent replacement for minimalist trips where an open-sided shelter is an acceptable trade for lower weight and pitching versatility.
