The Durston X-Mid 2 Solid is a 2-person double-wall A-frame tent with a fully solid nylon inner (15D ripstop, no mesh), aimed primarily at shoulder-season and colder conditions — reflected in its extended 3-season rating. Unlike other X-Mid models, it supports a pitch-fly-first setup, keeping the inner dry when pitching in rain. Both fly and floor are 20D silpoly rated to a 3500 mm hydrostatic head.
Trail weight of 1145 g breaks down into a 620 g fly and 445 g inner, with a stripped-down minimum configuration coming in at 1065 g. A 3.1 m² floor and four interior pockets give two people plenty of room to sleep and stash small items, but the two vestibules total just 1.1 m² (a 35% vestibule ratio) — more utilitarian than spacious, since this model prioritizes interior comfort over generous cooking space outside.
It suits pairs planning treks in colder weather or shoulder seasons, where protection from a fully solid nylon wall matters more than shaving every last gram.
