NEMO Hornet OSMO™ Ultralight Backpacking Tent

The NEMO Hornet OSMO is a semi-freestanding, 1-person, 3-season double-wall tent built around DAC Featherlite NSL aluminum poles. A trail weight of 822 g and full packed weight of 1020 g put it solidly in the ultralight category for solo tents, though not quite at the front of that pack. A 1.9 m² floor and single 0.7 m² vestibule leave enough room to sleep and stash a pack, while the 98 cm peak height allows for comfortable sitting up. The OSMO ripstop fabric carries a 1200 mm hydrostatic head on the fly and 1500 mm on the floor — more protection underneath, where contact with wet ground is most constant. Reflective guylines make the tent easier to spot around camp in the dark and reduce the chance of tripping over a line. The semi-freestanding design requires all corners to be staked to achieve its full shape — without that tension it loses interior space and stability. The Hornet OSMO suits solo hikers on multi-day trips who want a balance of low weight and price in a 3-season shelter.
